About the Opportunity:

You will perform a variety of administrative duties within Leave of Absence administration. Your primary responsibilities include assisting employees with applying for leave of absences, understanding the leave policies and determining eligibility under the applicable federal and state laws. 


  • Provide guidance in interpreting leave policies, federal and state leave laws

  • Handle interactions with employees and managers including phone calls and emails pertaining to leave programs, processes, procedures and communications. Provide excellent customer service to employees regarding the leave of absence process.

  • Communicate with managers of LOA employees regarding requests, approvals/denials, and other inquiries

  • Manage Help Desk tickets for Leave of Absence requests and returns 

  • Ensure all leave cases are entered timely and accurately in all systems 

  • Tracks and conducts necessary follow up on all LOA inquiries and approved leaves starting at time of request to the time employee returns to work

  • Research leave issues and regulations

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department


  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field and certifications

  • Experience working in Human Resources with direct customer interactions

  • Willingness and ability to improve process and procedure

  • Detail oriented, organized and proactive with all daily functions and transactions

  • Strong multi-tasking and communication (phone, email written) skills required

  • Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information.

This temporary, non-exempt position will be based at the Service Center in San Juan Capistrano, California.
