Wellington Rehab & Healthcare is currently seeking an Admissions Coordinator. As the Admissions Coordinator, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. The primary purpose of your job position is to obtain required information and admit residents in an efficient manner, in accordance with established policies and procedures, and as directed by your supervisor.

Job Description

  • All duties and responsibilities shall be performed as set forth in our established policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to and assures compliance with Code of Conduct, facility policies and procedures and all applicable rules, regulations and standards as promulgated by Federal, State, and accrediting agencies or regulating bodies. This includes, but is not limited to, Department of Health, Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services, and other applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Assume the responsibility of and accountability for the job duties of the Admissions Coordinator.
  • Function as a contributing member of the facility Department Head Team.
  • Strictly adhere to all policies on business gift and entertainment expenses; business credit card reconciliation; and receipt retention requirements.
  • Manage and assist with the pre-admission documentation process, as appropriate
  • Supervise and review the collection of admission documents, ensure completion and forward to the appropriate departments as necessary.
  • Supervise or perform interviews of residents/guardians and obtain required information and signatures.
  • Assist in the orientation program for residents/personnel.
  • Maintain an accurate record of available beds.
  • Gets the rooms ready for Admissions.
  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the facility.
  • Maintain a current record of all residents, their level of care, and assigned room numbers.
  • Provide current resident information to personnel and /or government agencies, as necessary.
  • Maintain clean work areas and ensure that any medical or business records are properly stored.
  • Refer admission problems to proper department or the Administrator.
  • Maintain a resident waiting list in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Keep current on Medicare/Medicaid provider regulations for skilled nursing facilities.
  • Fill out and follow up on Medicaid applications.
  • Communicate with all levels of personnel, visitors, physicians and government agencies/personnel.
  • Maintains relationships with residents, their families and personnel to ensure that residents’ needs are being met.
  • Serve on Committees as directed by the Administrator.
  • Attends required in-service education and on-the job training programs including required online training.
  • Provide internal education or training.
  • Other related duties and responsibilities that may become necessary to ensure that the needs of the facility are met.


Qualifications 

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Must use copier/scanner and upload documents to PCC software
  • Must adhere to compliance standards with regards to admission paperwork completion
